Finally a few good snow storms have passed through here and its time to really ski. But I have quickly realized in Colorado you must be committed to hiking if you truly want good skiing. Here, friends Nate and Dallas break trail with me in the Vail Sidecountry just to hit a corness we have been looking at for weeks. At the end of the day we were the only people who had made turns in this zone but there were many people at the bottom wishing they had too.

I finally developed some rolls of film about a week about. This first roll happens to be from the first or second week of October before driving out west. Here is long time college friend and ironically new Colorado neighbor Ashley Carney gazing out over the shores of Lake Champlain in Shelburne, Vermont. Still one of my most premium sunset spots in this world.

I woke up early last Saturday morning to make it back for work in Beaver Creek by 1pm and had the pleasure of driving this beautiful road for two hours. Good old route 131 after a little snow fall and alot of wind the night before. Don’t think I saw black on the road the whole dang way. But my rig is stilling getting me from point A to B. Perhaps I have slowed down and changed my driving style over the years.

Finally skied on my new powder sticks last week in a little place called Steamboat, Colorado. These are the Atomic Bent Chetler pro model in go big or go home 192cm size. This is not your typical floppy fat ski for surfy turns. In fact, the Bent Chetler has regular camber underfoot like your tradition ski and then reverse camber in the tip and tail. It has a solid fat platform of 123mm underfoot, 144mm in the tip and and 136mm in the tail.

While on my seasonal road trip out west I ran into a talent in the form of a pretty girl named Chelsea Burgin in Columbus, Ohio. Yes, once again I can say I really like this flat land locked city thanks to a certain friend. Like most introductions in my case, I met Chelsea in a bar late at night and a few whiskeys deep surrounded by good company. Little did I know that the soft spoken beauty really had a voice to be heard and the creative talent to back it. This singer/graphic designer has as many links to her world as she does shoes probably. Currently she is a designer for PromoWest in Columbus which keeps her close to the music scene and yet her voice stands alone. Chelsea has no band and no gigs but most certainly has fans and an image. I snagged this illustration done by her to give you a little visual taste. Possible album cover….ya never know till ya know. These are my friends on a typical Saturday night in a little mountain town you may know called Breckenridge. If ya don’t know, now ya know. These buddies work hard during the day and party harder by night. Lets just say their common careers involve shaping the minds of our future. With that said, do what they say not what they do okay children. When the juices start flowing some of us dance with our selves, some get loud, or switch to beer, and some just fall asleep. Does someone is this crew including the idiot behind the camera need an intervention? Psshhhh good luck telling them… Stay thirsty my friends.

Good college friend Kenny Braun set out cross country from Plymouth, Mass with the plan to settle down in Salt Lake City, Utah for the winter. With job possibilities at the Canyons Resort and Snowbird as well as other college friends already living in the area Kenny should have a premium winter. Before getting to Utah you must pass through Colorado, my new home. Here is Kenny showing some Jersey Shore persona at my Baller Status view of Beaver Creek Mountain. Kids these days….

I have just recently moved into a house on Wild Ridge in Avon, Colorado. Just steps away from my front door is a dog park with the best views in town. Right off to the left is Beaver Creek Resort where I will be working this year. Come visit and check out the epic views with your pups!
